Productivity Plus Successes

We report to our funders on the progress of firms in the High Performance Work (HPW) programme.  Obviously we need to demonstrate that tangible and sustainable outcomes are being achieved that warrant both continued government investment and business interest in investing into productivity improvements.

We rely on feedback via our contracted consultants and visits directly to firms to see how things are going.  We have visited most current High Performance Work firms over the last few months and are pleased with the results that are starting to filter through, including;

  • Genuine gains in productivity, namely the production of the product or service with less input of staff time and resource.
  • New staff appointments are either planned or made at operational and management levels. A lot of these appointments are focused on quality assurance, innovation improvement and marketing.
  • Processing improvements, often from the implementation of simple ideas and better communications, are contributing to faster lead times, better quality and less re-work.
  • Right people in the right jobs. Managers are managing, and staff have a sense of ownership. Efficient toolbox and production meetings help all levels understand the business and what is required to succeed.
